Peaqok is led by Laura Paunoiu, a founder whose career spans marketing, media, governance, and technology: she built a company from nothing to success, delivered technology projects inside major UK institutions, and was named her university's top graduate. She built Peaqok to put that range to work on one problem: making sure ambitious technology holds up in the real world.
She founded and ran her own marketing agency for more than five years - building a client business from the ground up, in an industry that didn't expect a young woman to lead it, and proving it wrong. Her clients included political figures, for whom she provided strategic consultancy, image direction, and personal advisory.
She didn't just complete her Master's in Business Administration - she topped it. The only student invited to address the entire university on graduation day, and the recipient of its Key of the University. Leadership started before that too: she served as vice president of her university's students' union. She then studied further at the Amsterdam Business School and the University of Amsterdam on an Erasmus scholarship.
That same breadth carried into media and governance too. She was chief editor of a Romanian newspaper, both in print and online, and volunteered as an auditor for a non-profit organisation, holding governance to account from the inside rather than reading about it in a policy document.
In the UK, she kept building range instead of narrowing it: leading retail operations, running financial operations inside the NHS, and delivering IT and technology projects for Tinder Corporation Ltd and Lincoln College - before channelling all of it into Peaqok.

The name comes from Paunoiu, derived from paun, the Romanian word for peacock. A prototype is the tail before it opens: promising, but not yet showing what it can really do. Peaqok's work is what makes it hold.
Peaqok exists because of a shift already underway. AI has made it easy for businesses to build their own tools quickly. What it hasn't made easy is taking those tools further - production quality, reliable at scale, sensibly costed, and safe to depend on. That's not a job for a generalist. It takes someone who has already built, led, and delivered across enterprise, media, governance, and technology, not just studied them - and that's exactly who's running Peaqok.
